THE ELUSIVE NATURE OF UNITY

Psalms 133:1-3 Verse one says, Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Ephesians 4:1-6 Verse Three says, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:11-16 Verse Thirteen says, Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
Unity is the expectation of God for His people. The passages above tell us everything we need to know to attain and maintain unity, as well as what we can look for as the result of achieving unity. Notice if you please, that I have used the word ‘attain’ rather than ‘obtain’ where it comes to achieving unity. Unity is not something that we can get,as though it were some commodity, but rather, it is something that we come to experientially, and that, only through much prayer and sacrifice.
